The Committee on the Judiciary moved to amend the bill by striking out the title and substituting therefor a new title, to read as follows:

Eng. Com. Sub. for H. B. 4893—A Bill to amend and reenact §50-5-11 and §61-5-26 of the Code of West Virginia, 1931, as amended, relating to increasing the penalties and fines for a first, second, or third or subsequent finding contempt of court pertaining to the same matter in magistrate court; providing that a person adjudged guilty of a third or subsequent offense of contempt may, in the discretion of the magistrate, as an alternative to the sentence provided in the code, be sentenced in a manner consistent with §62-11A-1a of this code; and raising the amount a court can fine for contempt of court without a jury trial.
